About Me

Getting to know more about Tina Marie, The Gluten-Free Foodsmith…

Discover more about me and how I became the gluten-free foodsmith by clicking my pic! Thanks for stopping by!Tina Marie lives in a little town northwest of Portland, Maine, nestled in the mountains. Though she wasn’t born here, she often remarks that this is home, where she belongs. She is most at home in the kitchen, where for her, cooking is her passion – a part of who she is.

“It brings me close to my home – in my heart. The aroma coming from a home cooked meal, especially one I’m cooking is an aphrodisiac. Cooking is my addiction.” – Tina Marie 2014

Tina loves to cook for people, including, of course, her husband of more than 20 years, and her many grandbabies – for whom she is always ready to whip up batches and batches of cookies and cupcakes for school functions, on a moment’s notice. She loves to see people enjoy her many creations, to know the love that went into making each and every bite they take.

Tina also enjoys reading, sewing, and crocheting; and on any rainy day you might find her curled up watching old movies or some Sci Fi with some homemade popcorn and the grandkids or hubby. While she is not your typical old granny – she does embrace her family and the time they spend together is time well spent!

Tina began experimenting with cooking gluten-free after she became very ill and underwent a plethora of tests to determine just what was wrong with her. After much frustration and a long road filled with many twists and turns, it was decided that among other things, gluten was definitely a factor for her.

With the love and support of a good man, they say most anything is possible and in Tina’s case, this certainly worked here. Gluten-free for many years now and mostly organic, as well, Tina strives nearly every day to create gluten-free recipes for herself and that she can share with others simply because there are so few out there that actually taste good.

It is with this in mind that she became The Gluten-Free Foodsmith. Wanting to share her delicious recipes with a bigger audience and with the hope of helping others eat a more healthy lifestyle – Tina Marie has opened her kitchen and her heart and we all reap the reward from it.

“This girl has got the goods when it comes to cooking and baking gluten-free!” – SLR 2014

And where does Tina Marie see herself in 5 years?

I would love to see my book on the shelves or downloaded to Kindle. I would love for my story of how I came to write the book or blog be inspiring to others. I’ve been inspired by a very special person and owe her so much gratitude. She has gone through so very much and if she can do it, so can everyone. I would like to have two cookbooks/blogs/videos – one for gluten-free and my gadgets and one for infused cooking (medical cannabis). I’m a layperson so I know that what I write, everyone will be able to understand and be able to follow the recipe to create something wonderful for themselves.

Love,

Tina Marie

  1. I went thru similar things with my doctors- they never recommended this for me it was something I decided to try on my own and I can say it resolved 99% of my issues. But I do miss the breads and cookies. I am so glad I found your site. I am going to try some of your recipes and hope to be eating breads of some sort and cookies very soon. I would love a gluten free blueberry muffin recipe if you find one to share with us.

    • Thanks Bill! I really appreciate you stopping by to check my blog out. I had to do something to fill up the time after WM to the dive. 🙂 What better way than cooking and baking. 🙂

  2. It’s so nice to get to know a little more about you, Tina. I’m happy to hear that you figured out your health concerns and that switching to a gluten-free diet has helped! I’m completely jealous of your living in the mountains, and Maine. I visited Maine a few years back for two weeks and I didn’t want to leave. It was stunningly gorgeous! I’d love to sit and get to know you over a coffee and our crochet hooks. 🙂 Cheers!
