This Honey Yogurt Avocado Dip is a great start to any and every party. It’s vastly becoming our favorite snack for family game night with the grandchildren or movie “date night” for my husband and I, and yes, we still, at our age, have our date nights. With as many grandchildren (7) we have to schedule a date night or we would be flooded with grandchildren every night of the week. This Honey Avocado Dip is a great way to get them to eat all kinds of fresh vegetables. Although, most everyone here loves them.
We last made this Honey Yogurt Avocado Dip when the grandchildren were here during the school vacation to go along with our Taco Tuesday Salads. My grandson Mason named that recipe and my head food critic (my granddaughter Autumn) named this one. I think they’ve helped to name most of my recipes, and believe me, nothing leaves my kitchen without them giving it the taste test first. These kids are just too crazy for me and I think they watch too many cooking shows. They keep telling me I should apply to be on Chopped if they had a Grammie’s show. I just look at them and laugh and say “you’ve been chopped”.
Honey Yogurt Avocado Dip is a wonderful starter to any meal. It’s great for snacking on family game night, or movie night. Makes a great take along to any gathering. It’s light and fresh taste will have everyone standing around the dipping bowl.
- 1 very ripe – Avocado – peeled, seeded and diced
- ½ cup – Greek Yogurt – low fat plain
- ½ cup – Sour Cream – fat free
- 1 Tbsp. – Light Cream
- 1 ½ Tbsp. – Raw Honey*
- 2 Tbsp. – Fresh Cilantro – minced
- 1 pinch – Cumin
- 1 pinch – Paprika
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- Your favorite - Fresh Veggies - sliced
- Combine all ingredients except for cilantro and blend with a hand mixer until smooth and creamy.
- Add cilantro, stirring well with a wooden spoon. Pour into serving bowl and serve with your favorite fresh veggies.
*If you’re able to get local raw honey, I would suggest doing so. There’s so many health benefits in using local honey from your area. Not only does it taste good, but if you suffer from allergies it can help lesson them.
This Honey Yogurt Avocado Dip is wonderful to bring along to a family gathering, office party and healthy treat for school. The dip is so light and refreshing and goes well with any fresh vegetable. One of my all-time favorites to dip is jicama; its crisp, slightly sweet taste and celery texture is a winner for this dip. The grandchildren love dipping carrots, celery, and fresh green beans for their super healthy and delicious snack. No matter where you take this refreshing Honey Yogurt Avocado Dip – it’s going to put smiles on whoever gets the chance to dip it!
