Christmas is almost here and I thought I would share some scrumptious recipes in this Holiday Cake Round-Up from a few of my favorite foodie friends. I decided to spread some holiday cheer around and wanted to include recipes to fit everyone’s wants and needs in this post. You’ll find gluten-free as well as gluten containing recipes – I just couldn’t help myself, they just look and sound delicious. So let’s get started!
We’re going to start off with one of my favorite holiday cakes to make. It’s my gluten-free White Chocolate Lace Cake. The combination of the fresh raspberries and mint leaves on the top make a scrumptious dessert that is sure to please everyone. Serve up a slice of goodness and put some holiday love on your family’s plate with this chocolaty delicious White Chocolate Lace Cake from my very own favorite recipe.
This gorgeous Lovely Lemon Cake from Diane over at Homemade Food Junkie sure is the cake to put you into the baking mood. This light and delicious looking creation is a show stopper and can be served for any holiday or gathering of your choice. Anything containing the zesty taste of lemons is a winner in my book. This recipe is not gluten-free, but I’m sure it can be converted over with just a few switches of ingredients, I know I’ll be trying it soon. Wow! This decadent classy looking Dobos Torte is from Brian over at Krumpli. He says that sweet desserts are not his favorite to make, I disagree. This amazing Torte looks like a slice of pure decadence. Oh, and look at that topping, just simply amazing! Krumpli has such an array of delicious recipes on his site and don’t forget to stop by and read about this scrumptious Dobos Torte – it’s a Hungarian legend! You won’t be disappointed – I stalk him daily to see what new wonderful recipe he has added to his blog! This is not a gluten-free recipe, but I’m sure it can be converted over as well.
These Christmas Cake Pops by Renee over at Joy In Every Season, look like they’re a fun day in the kitchen. I’ve never made these, but I will be tackling them very soon! I’m thinking a baking day in the kitchen with a bunch of helpers. This Christmas Cake Pops recipe puts the fun back into cake making! This is not a gluten-free recipe, but can be easily converted over by using a gluten-free cake mix. King Arthur, Bob’s Red Mill and Betty Crocker all put out a delicious box mix. This Coconut Cake by Rosemary over at An Italian In My Kitchen is simply beautiful. With all that delicious coconut on the outside of the cake it will look like a snowball sitting on your table waiting to be devoured. What a wonderful idea for a holiday cake. This recipe came from one of her family members who adapted from another, and you know me – I’m all about adaptation! Although this is not a gluten-free recipe it can be easily adapted to one with just a few ingredients replaced. I can’t wait to try this beautiful Coconut Cake. This scrumptious looking Strawberry Chocolate Anniversary Cake by Karen over at Karen’s Kitchen Stories is the perfect dessert for two to four people at any occasion. Look how moist those two layers are – Yum! Oh, and that frosting with those beautiful strawberries on top, she can sure bake up some tempting and delicious looking desserts. This is not a gluten-free recipe, but Karen uses King Arthur’s unbleached flour; all you have to do is switch this ingredient to King Arthur’s Gluten-Free Flour and you’ve got yourself this decadent dessert made for two.
